The venue for Synthetic is The Raynor Lounge situated on the bottom floor of Sheffield University Student Union. The entrance is off the main student bar, Bar One. For the benefit of the unaquainted, it is a cosy little 180-capacity nightclub, recently refurbished, with comfy seating, a dancefloor, a bar serving SU-priced drinks, and a revolving glitter ball which clunks into and out of action at regular intervals.

The Sheffield University Student Union is on Glossop Road, at the western edge of the city centre. It is easily accessible by a wide range of public transport - supertrams (yellow or blue routes) and buses (numbers 40, 51, 52, 120) run regularly from the train and bus stations or city centre to virtually outside the SU's Glossop Road entrance every 10 minutes. Journey time is 5 to 10 minutes and the fare is approximately £1.30.

When arriving at the Student's Union, enter through the 'Bar One' entrance in Glossop Road, which is simply a double-door in the wall underneath a large sign. Walk through the archetypal student bar ahead of you, turn right and the entrance to The Raynor Lounge is ahead of you.
